It is a tremendous honor to represent the people of Southwest Washington in Congress and I am proud of the things we have accomplished together - restoring and defending sales tax deductibility, working to strengthen the economy and protect family wage jobs, fighting for lower energy prices, supporting small businesses, combating the plague of methamphetamine and leading the effort to enhance science and vocational education. I am also pleased with the work we've done to promote practical solutions to protect our environment, solve transportation challenges, and advocate for our veterans, our soldiers in the field and their families. Throughout the district and across the political spectrum I hear from voters that they appreciate having a representative who looks beyond partisan politics to do what is right. I pledge to continue to do my utmost in Congress to tackle challenging issues straight on, to listen and work together for common sense solutions to the challenges facing our region and our nation.
